Midnight Blue: the Mystery

{ Mood Indigo } opens the album with a foxy jazz standard, and struts into a scream of blue tones and textures.

Theatrical grandeur continues with { In Your Dreams } , where we explore unrequited romance with a robot.

When the light is extinguished, we might find rest, but instead we find ourselves leaping from the windowsill of our bedroom on the baroque electronica, {Swing In The Moonlight} .

On { Deerheart } , we land in a folksier fable of mandolin mythology.

The minstrel makes way for a disappointing date with a heavy metal guitarist on { Patina } . She bids for vulnerability, and an open mind, asking him, "Show me what metal can do, when you let it turn blue."

Glamoury Gold: the Truth

Despite experimenting in very distorted delay and loss of audio information through bit-crushing, { Abandon } ushers in much needed warmth.

{ Wings } , a companion track, was meant to be a diary entry, but we wrapped it in gold leaf for your ears, and let the guitars bleed.

{ Jezebell } was written for a wonderful friend, and weaves beautiful memories of southern Spain with vaguely techno bachata rhythms and guitars.

We finally "have got a choice to make," on { The Glamoury }. With its off-kilter drum machine and Alex's sassy bass licks, we distill the theme of our color story: how much can we chew on the past before its broken down enough --- before we are?

Finally, { Memory Painter } ; our awakening. Driving us through this track is a flurry of strings; plucked, bowed, strummed, and tapped vigorously, a digital drum machine, and the sound of someone playing with a tea set!

These colors reveal how we can learn to heal by first feeling an emotion and then using the stored experiences as guides, rather than dictators.
